Photography has long been my obsessive hobby of delight. I am fascinated by the creative power of light, color, and composition, and achieving transcendent combinations therein.
Here are some of my better photographs, courtesy of my Flickr. Use the power of Full Screen, for a better viewing experience.
Having spent a large amount of time in both Black and White and Color analogue darkrooms during my time in college, I will say with certainty that this experience honed my eye significantly with regard to color, tonality, and composition. There’s nothing like adjusting the color balance of a print, point by point of CMY, to give you a good perception for subtle variations of color.
More recently, I have become quite interested in the process of color-correction as a creative and expressive tool, as the above pictures probably indicate. With the ability to shoot RAW digital images, and the advent of powerful tools such as Adobe Lightroom, the computer has become a manipulation laboratory even more powerful than the analogue darkrooms of ages past. This interest has carried over into my moving picture endeavors as well, as evidenced by my work color correcting such short films as The Hotdog Cycle.
